There's an App for that

Recently, I came across a web site named infinite monkeys which allows you to create your own custom HTML5 app for mobile devices using a web based toolkit.

I had some spare time, so I decided to give it a try.

The result is my own "Hello World" mobile app experience for Siebel Essentials. It took me only a few minutes to put together an app which allows you to access the following from a single place on your smartphone (tested on Android and iPhone).

  • Siebel Essentials blog posts
  • News about Siebel and Oracle
  • Siebel Essentials twitter stream
  • Useful Links

Home screen of the Siebel Essentials app.
Of course the whole app is based around URLs which can also be retrieved separately in a browser. But I am surprised how useful the rendering is (given the fact that this is a free offering, so some ads will flash in as well).

The whole thing is completely experimental, please don't expect it to do magic tricks ;-)

You can download the app here (point your mobile browser to this address: http://theapp.mobi/siebelessentials)

You can also scan this QR code to access the download page:

Feedback and comments are - as usually - most welcome.

have a nice day

Thanks Jay,

although there are some limits in the toolkit, I am quite happy with the result too.

I'll keep optimizing the app but don't expect to much from this experiment ;-)
